Use a ticket whenever you need help from IT: a computer problem, a request for access, a system error, or a question. One ticket per problem helps us answer faster.
Steps
- Open the Helpdesk and choose the option to submit a new ticket.
- Choose the group that fits your request, so it goes to the right team.
- Write a short, clear subject, for example "Printer on 2nd floor does not print".
- In the description, tell us:
- what happened and what you expected,
- when it started,
- any error message (a screenshot helps a lot),
- how to reach you.
- Attach screenshots or files if you have them.
- Submit. You will get a ticket number.
Also Notify: keep other people in the loop If someone else should know about this ticket, such as your supervisor or a teammate with the same problem, add their email in Also Notify. They will receive the updates and replies on the ticket by email.
After you submit
- You get an email whenever the IT team replies.
- To answer, reply to the ticket in the Helpdesk (or to the email).
- You can open the ticket any time to see its status and the full conversation.
Tips
- Do not submit the same problem twice. Add a reply to your existing ticket instead.
- Include what you already tried. It saves time.
